Ireland Updates!
Hi everyone!
We’re getting suuuuuuuper close to when we want to move to Ireland so I thought I would give you some insight on how we are going about this for anyone interested!
As we wait for my citizenship paperwork to get processed, we are applying for what is called a working holiday authorization (WHA). It is something that anyone who is actively in college or graduated within the past 12 months is eligible for. Here’s a link for more information if you want, it’s available for so many countries so check it out! It doesn’t guarantee work but it gives you an in!
The WHA lets you live and work for up to 12 months so we are using that to get over and get started until my citizenship comes in, which takes around 9 months.
Here comes the tricky part, Ziggy…
who could ever be scared of her?
Pitbulls/Staffordshire Terriers are a restricted breed in Ireland and so many “pet-friendly” apartments have this restriction in place. That means we have to go over without her until we can find housing that will accommodate her. Cullen and I both agree, that if Ziggy can’t move with us, then this move won’t happen.
If Ireland ends up being a poor fit for Ziggy then we have back-up plans for different countries to move to and how we go about that but fingers crossed we can get her to Ireland or else we’re taking some German classes!
We have also started the job hunt! It’s exciting and also stressful! We need to get jobs to sustain living in Ireland. I am looking at so many jobs since my Bachelor of Psychology doesn’t get me very far. I’m also looking at ‘work from anywhere’ jobs, so if you know of any, let me know! Cullen is searching for data science jobs. Luckily, there are so many tech companies in Dublin/Ireland so hopefully he lands something good!
Lastly, since we need more cash in our pockets I’m looking into allowing ads on here and potentially building my TikTok a bit, so apologies in advance lol!
